Hezbollah Continues to Defend Lebanon and Gaza with Operations Against Israeli Forces
Hezbollah, also known as the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, is actively fighting against Israeli forces across southern Lebanon. The group is blocking Israeli attempts to enter Lebanese territory, defending the people of Lebanon, and supporting Gaza during its ongoing conflict with Israel.
Hezbollah’s Military Operations
On October 11, 2024, Hezbollah carried out multiple operations targeting Israeli military positions and soldiers.
- At 7:20 a.m., Hezbollah fighters used a guided missile to hit Israeli equipment at the al-Ibad military base, scoring a direct hit.
- At 8:30 a.m., the group fired rockets at Israeli soldiers in Zeluvun, north of Haifa.
- At 8:30 a.m., they also launched an aerial attack with drones on an Israeli Air Defense Base in Kiryat Eliezer, Haifa.
- At 9:30 a.m., more rockets targeted Israeli soldiers at the Yiftach base.
- At 10:50 a.m., Hezbollah attacked Israeli troops in the Kfar Szold settlement with a rocket barrage.
- At 2:25 p.m., the group fired rockets at soldiers in the Ya'ara settlement.
Escalating Israeli Aggression
Israel has responded with increased airstrikes across Lebanon, especially in the southern and eastern areas, and in Beirut's Southern Suburb. Since September 23, more than 1,200 people have died, and over a million have been displaced due to the conflict.
On Thursday night, Israeli forces launched an airstrike on a busy neighborhood in Beirut called al-Nuwairi. This was the third attack on a Beirut neighborhood, following strikes in the Cola and Bashoura areas.
Heavy Human Toll
The Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that the recent airstrike on al-Nuwairi killed 22 people and injured 117. Among the victims was a displaced family who lost their lives in the attack.
Israeli Soldiers Injured
Israeli media reported that 22 Israeli soldiers were injured within 24 hours, with 20 of those injuries occurring along the Lebanese border. Two more soldiers were injured in the Gaza Strip. Seven of the wounded were taken to Ziv Medical Center after battles with Hezbollah at the northern border.
Israeli helicopters were also targeted. In the Mays al-Jabal area, one helicopter was hit while evacuating injured soldiers, forcing ambulances to leave the area.
Deaths on the Israeli Side
On Thursday, the Israeli military confirmed the death of one soldier and the injury of another during battles on the Lebanese border. The soldier was from the 228th Brigade, and the injured one from the 5030th Battalion was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Since Israel’s ground incursion into southern Lebanon began, the Israeli military has officially acknowledged the deaths of 12 soldiers. However, Hezbollah claims that the number is much higher, with at least 35 Israeli soldiers killed and 200 others wounded, including elite officers.
