Israeli officials confirmed that two drones from Lebanon entered Israeli airspace and hit a building in Herzliya, a city north of Tel Aviv, on Friday evening.
The attack caused damage to the building and led to a large power outage in the city, according to Israeli news reports. Sirens went off across Herzliya, which is about 100 kilometers from Lebanon, as the drones broke through Israel’s air defenses. This caused panic among residents.
Israeli media stated that this was the farthest distance a drone had traveled from Lebanon into Israel. At first, there was confusion, with some reports suggesting the drones came from Iraq or Yemen. However, the Israeli military later confirmed that the drones were launched from Lebanon.
