Lebanese Health Ministry Reports Rising Casualties Amid Escalating Israeli Strikes
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported on Sunday that Israeli airstrikes have resulted in 2,986 deaths and over 13,402 injuries across Lebanon, with the toll expected to rise as violence continues. Strikes have targeted multiple regions, including Nabatieh, Saida, and the Bekaa Valley, hitting homes, hospitals, and other areas where civilians reside. Heavy destruction is widespread, and ongoing search and rescue efforts face challenging weather and limited equipment. As the violence escalates, communities in South Lebanon and beyond are facing severe humanitarian impacts.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that the death toll from Israeli attacks in Lebanon has risen to 2,986, with 13,402 wounded as the violence continues. These numbers may increase as more attacks occur.
Reports from South Lebanon say that Israeli warplanes carried out drone strikes in Marj Harouf and Arab Salim, located in Nabatieh. Nabatieh itself was also targeted. In another incident, an Israeli drone fired a guided missile at a car near a Lebanese army checkpoint in Bait Yahoun, located in the Bint Jbeil district. In Shaqra, a nearby town, a drone also struck a residential house.
Airstrikes in South Lebanon Intensify
Sunday afternoon saw a series of airstrikes in South Lebanon, with an area around the Government Hospital in Tebnin hit for the third time. Five people, including two children, were found dead in Wata al-Khiam after a building was bombed. The Red Cross will continue rescue operations tomorrow to recover the remaining bodies trapped under the rubble, although harsh weather and limited equipment make this challenging.
Israeli airstrikes targeted numerous other towns, including Zawtar al-Sharqiya in Nabatieh, and multiple villages like Siddiqin, Dhour al-Bayadh, and Burj al-Shamali. In Tyre City, a park was hit by a drone strike.

Israeli Strikes Impacting Saida and Bekaa Valley
An airstrike on the town of al-Baysariyeh in Saida killed three people and injured others, while another strike on Haret Saida left three dead and nine injured. One person also lost their life in Ghazieh, another town in Saida.
In the eastern Bekaa Valley, Israeli warplanes launched several attacks, striking a building in Kayyal and destroying the al-Rida Grill café near Baalbek Governmental Hospital. The al-Lakkis neighborhood in Baalbek was also targeted, along with other parts of the city. The strikes caused extensive damage, which was documented by news crews on-site.
In western Bekaa, a house in Libbaya was destroyed by an airstrike, killing four people and injuring three others. Raids also hit the outskirts of Sohmor and Mashghara, leaving heavy destruction in the Mashghara plain.
The situation remains tense across Lebanon as Israeli strikes continue, with civilians bearing the brunt of the escalating violence.
