Hezbollah Marks 40 Days Since Martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah Amid Ongoing War

Forty days after the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah and supporters gather to honor his legacy, which continues to drive Lebanon’s resistance movement amid heightened clashes with Israel. The conflict, punctuated by Hezbollah’s cross-border strikes and drone deployments, reflects Nasrallah’s vision of resilience in defending Lebanon's sovereignty, with Lebanese leaders emphasizing the leader’s lasting impact on the nation’s struggle.

Beirut, Lebanon — Today marks the 40th day since the passing of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, a prominent leader and symbolic figure of resilience and resistance in Lebanon. Hezbollah and its supporters gathered to commemorate his legacy, as fighting along the Lebanon-Israel border continues to intensify. Despite expectations, the movement's resolve has remained unshaken, with recent actions signaling that the resistance remains firmly on the course Nasrallah set.

Over the past 40 days, Hezbollah has launched targeted rocket and artillery strikes on Israeli sites, reaching deep into Israeli territory, including Tel Aviv. In a move seen as a symbolic warning, Hezbollah sent a drone near the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Additionally, the group’s steady drone deployments challenge Israel’s longstanding dominance in the air, setting a new dynamic in the ongoing conflict.

In a statement today, Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem praised Nasrallah’s enduring influence, citing his words: “The era of defeats has long passed, and the era of victories has come.” He reassured resistance fighters, “We are victorious. Be patient.”

Lebanese Leaders Reflect on Nasrallah’s Legacy

On the commemoration day, former Lebanese President Emile Lahoud reflected on Nasrallah’s transformative impact on Hezbollah, which evolved from a local defense force into a formidable military entity. “Whether it be forty days, four hundred, or four thousand, Sayyed Nasrallah will remain a unique figure and a symbol for every free person who rejects subjugation,” Lahoud said in a statement.

Lahoud credited Nasrallah and his fellow leaders with instilling a vision, courage, and organizational strength in Hezbollah’s ranks, enabling them to confront one of the world’s most advanced militaries. He further emphasized the steadfastness of young resistance fighters, vowing they would continue defending Lebanon’s sovereignty.

“Sayyed Nasrallah’s legacy endures with every young fighter on this sacred land,” Lahoud concluded, adding, “With allies at their side, we will continue our mission until victory is achieved.”
