Iranian Foreign Minister Meets Hamas Leaders in Istanbul, Vows Continued Support After Yahya Sinwar’s Martyrdom

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Hamas leaders Mohammad Ismail Darwish, Khalil al-Hayya, and Mousa Abu Marzouk in Istanbul, Turkey, to express condolences and support after the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

Araghchi shared a message from Iranian Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei, praising the martyrs and calling Sinwar's death a source of pride for the Islamic world. He emphasized that their sacrifice would strengthen the resistance against Israeli occupation and oppression.

He also criticized the United States and some Western countries for their support of Israel, blaming them for the violence in Gaza and other Islamic lands. Araghchi praised the strength of Hamas and its resistance, stating that Israeli attacks had only brought shame to the occupying regime.

Hamas leader Mohammad Ismail Darwish expressed gratitude for Iran's support, saying the Palestinian fighters remain determined to continue their struggle. He highlighted the cooperation among resistance groups in the Islamic world, including Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria, following the storming of the al-Aqsa Mosque. Darwish also urged international organizations to help the people of Gaza, who face hunger and a lack of essential supplies due to the ongoing blockade.

Araghchi is currently visiting several countries in the region to promote peace amid rising tensions. He also warned that Iran would respond to any Israeli attack on its nuclear facilities, stressing that Iran has already identified targets in Israel and would retaliate similarly if provoked. He called for diplomacy to stop Israeli attacks and prevent a larger conflict in the region, aiming to ensure the safety of people in Gaza and Lebanon.
