Gaza Government Media Office Reports Unprecedented Brutality by Israeli Forces as War on Gaza Enters 374th Day
The Government Media Office in Gaza released a report on Monday detailing the escalating brutality inflicted by Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip, marking the 374th day of the war on Gaza that intensified on October 7, 2023.
According to the report, the Israeli army is disseminating misinformation regarding humanitarian aid, claiming to deliver flour trucks to northern Gaza while maintaining a strict siege for 170 days, effectively blocking all humanitarian access points.
The office reported that the ongoing assault has resulted in the deaths of over 342 individuals and injuries to hundreds more, including women and children. This continuous assault has persisted for 10 consecutive days, prompting accusations of genocide and mass extermination.
The report characterized the situation in northern Gaza as "actual and deliberate genocide and ethnic cleansing," noting the extensive destruction of homes, infrastructure, hospitals, schools, and other vital sectors.
U.S.-Israeli Plans Under Scrutiny
The Gaza Government Media Office asserted that these atrocities form part of "the most dangerous American-Israeli occupation and displacement plan," labeling it "the largest and most dangerous scheme of the 21st century." The office urged the international community and global organizations to exert pressure on Israel to halt what it described as a "war of extermination" and ethnic cleansing, particularly in northern Gaza.
Furthermore, the report condemned systematic killings and starvation of civilians and displaced persons, criticizing Israeli efforts to dismantle the healthcare system and transform the region into a zone of total destruction.
The office held the Israeli occupation, the U.S. administration, and several other countries—including the United Kingdom, Germany, and France—fully responsible for the ongoing atrocities, arguing that these nations are complicit in the brutal war against the Palestinian people.
Marking One Year of Genocide
In a poignant statement, Ismail Thawabta, Director General of the Government Media Office, highlighted the catastrophic toll of the war on Gaza over the past year. He reported that more than 16,000 Palestinian children have been killed, alongside 11,400 women, with entire families erased from civil records due to the violence. Thawabta detailed that the Israeli forces have committed over 3,600 massacres, systematically destroying entire neighborhoods.
He emphasized that the ongoing devastation has been facilitated by U.S.-supplied weapons and military support, further implicating international actors in the destruction of Gaza.
With over two million people displaced and facing dire conditions, Thawabta warned of skyrocketing malnutrition rates among children, who lack access to essential supplies such as formula milk and vaccinations.
The report noted that 187 shelters have been targeted, resulting in the deaths of over 1,060 individuals seeking refuge. Medical facilities are collapsing under the relentless bombardment, with medical personnel increasingly becoming casualties. The report highlighted that 25,000 patients and injured individuals are being denied vital medical treatment outside Gaza due to the blockade.
The Israeli occupation has also targeted and killed 175 journalists, further attempting to silence dissenting voices amid the ongoing violence. The Government Media Office concluded its report by calling for immediate international action to prevent what it termed "crimes against humanity."
