Iran Showcases New Underground Missile City in Southern Waters

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has unveiled a new underground facility housing advanced cruise missiles designed to target destroyers in strategically significant southern waters, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). The move underscores Iran’s ongoing military advancements and strategic positioning in the region.

IRGC Chief Highlights Military Readiness

On Saturday, IRGC Chief Commander Major General Hossein Salami visited the newly revealed “missile city” on Iran’s southern shores. During his inspection, Salami assessed the combat readiness of the IRGC Navy’s missile units stationed at the facility.

Salami emphasized that Iran’s Armed Forces are continuously enhancing their defense capabilities to safeguard national security. "The Iranian Armed Forces are working day and night to defend the people and enhance the country's capabilities," he stated. The IRGC commander also issued a warning to adversaries, stating that any miscalculation against Iran would lead to severe consequences, as these military facilities could be activated immediately when required.

Advanced Missile Technology in Underground Base

According to IRNA, the missiles deployed in this subterranean base are equipped with electronic warfare countermeasures, ensuring their effectiveness in complex combat scenarios. These missiles can be rapidly deployed, making them a strategic asset for Iran’s defense system.

This marks Iran’s third underground missile facility unveiled within a month. On January 18, the IRGC Navy introduced an underground naval missile base in an undisclosed location in the Gulf. Earlier, on January 10, the IRGC Aerospace Force showcased another underground missile site, demonstrating Iran’s rapid advancements in military infrastructure.

Iranian Air Force Equips Aircraft with Cutting-Edge Systems

In a related development, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, Commander of the Iranian Air Force, announced that military aircraft and drones have been upgraded with advanced modern technology.

During a visit to an air base in Birjand, Vahedi revealed that Iran’s Air Force is set to unveil two new military achievements soon. He reaffirmed that Iran’s Armed Forces are fully prepared to counter any threat, ensuring high-level defense capabilities.
