IRGC Commander Salami Celebrates Strategic Defeat of Israel Following Ceasefire on Lebanese Front
On Thursday morning, Major General Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), issued a message of congratulations to Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem. Salami commended Hezbollah's successful resistance against Israel, particularly following the ceasefire agreement implemented on Wednesday.
Salami emphasized the significance of the ceasefire, describing it as a "strategic and humiliating defeat" for Israel, which he referred to as the "Zionist regime." He praised Hezbollah’s efforts in repelling Israel’s actions on the northern front, asserting that the ceasefire was a direct result of Hezbollah’s determination and strategic victories.
“The ceasefire on the Lebanese front is a strategic and humiliating defeat for the Zionist regime,” Salami stated, underlining Hezbollah's ability to prevent Israel from achieving its goals.
The IRGC commander extended his congratulations to the Lebanese government, the people of Lebanon, and specifically the Hezbollah fighters, whose sacrifices were central to this victory. He attributed the success to the "blood of martyrs," the "patience of the Lebanese resistance," and the "bravery of Hezbollah’s fighters," acknowledging the movement’s key role in resisting Israeli aggression for years.
Salami further suggested that the defeat suffered by Israel could have wider implications, potentially facilitating the end of the war in Gaza. He expressed hope that the ceasefire could be a turning point in the broader regional conflict.
